Cookie Policy. Real Epoch Converter.
This page lists every cookie and browser-storage item this site can set, who sets it, and how to refuse or delete them. The converter itself stores nothing and sends nothing.
Cookies vs. local storage
Cookies are small files a website or its partners store in your browser. This site also uses local storage, a similar browser mechanism that keeps data on your device only — it is never sent to any server in normal browsing. The distinction matters here: the essential things that make the site work (your theme, your consent choice) live in local storage, while the advertising and analytics cookies listed below are set by Google and are fully controlled by your consent choice.
Your consent choice
In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, and India, a consent banner appears on your first visit. Nothing below loads in a personalized or cookie-dropping state until you accept. If you decline — or dismiss or ignore the banner — ads stay non-personalized and analytics stay cookieless. You keep full access to the tool either way. You can revisit your choice any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, and the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link gives the same opt-out everywhere.
Local storage set by this site
These entries never leave your device and are not accessible to me:
-
rec:consent— your banner choice ("granted" or "declined"), so you are not asked on every page. Essential to honor your choice; deleting it simply re-shows the banner (in consent regions). -
rec:theme— light or dark mode. -
rec:email-capture— records only that you saw, dismissed, or used the newsletter popup, so it never nags you twice. -
rec:review-nudge— records that the one-time "leave a review" nudge was shown. -
rec:ab-dismissed— timestamps your dismissal of the ad-blocker notice so it stays hidden for 30 days.
Cookies and identifiers set by Google
The following are set by Google's products, governed by Google's own policies, and controlled by your banner choice:
-
Google Analytics 4 — measures aggregate site usage. Until you accept
(in consent regions) it runs entirely cookieless; after you accept it may set cookies
such as
_ga(visitor ID, up to 2 years) and_ga_*(session state, up to 2 years). -
Google AdSense — serves the ads that keep this tool free. Before you
accept, and for every declining or GPC-sending visitor, ads are non-personalized and
Google drops no profiling cookies. After acceptance (where Google's regional policy
permits personalization), Google may set advertising cookies such as
IDEand related identifiers to measure and personalize ads. Google documents the full list at "How Google uses cookies" (policies.google.com/technologies/cookies).
In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google's advertising policy keeps all ads non-personalized for publishers like me who don't use a Google-certified consent platform — so acceptance upgrades analytics there, but ads stay "Limited" regardless.
How to control or delete cookies
- Change your consent: "Cookie settings" in the footer re-opens the banner on this site.
- Opt out of sale/sharing: the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" footer link, or a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser or extension — both are honored automatically.
- Delete everything: your browser's site-data settings can clear all cookies and local storage for realepochconverter.com.
- Block Google Analytics everywhere: the official opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
- Ad settings: adssettings.google.com controls the personalization Google applies across sites.
